TRAVEL // SRPRS ME

I really do like travelling and discovering different countries and cultures. So,  when I eventually have to choose one destination to go, most of the time I just can’t make a decision all by myself.

I am so indecisive when it comes to choosing a holiday destination.

At the beginning of June, I decided to go on a short city trip with a friend of mine. We couldn’t decide on where to go, so we booked a trip via Surprise Me! They booked our flight as well as our hostel and we could even opt for the arranging of our transfer to the hostel and back to the airport.

At first, I was a little nervous, because I’m a real planner and I always like to know what’s going to happen next. It was only upon our arrival at Brussels airport that we discovered our destination: We were going to Madrid! It’s a city in which both of us had never been before, so it couldn’t have been better!

The hostel, Room007 in Chueca, Madrid was really nice too and everything went really smoothly. It was a clean hostel, the staff was very kind and hospitable and every morning there was a good range of choices for breakfast for only two euros.

Since we didn’t really plan anything before leaving, we decided not to plan anything at all in the course of our stay here. So, every day, we just started walking in a different direction. The weather was really nice, and Madrid has some true gems that you just can’t miss when staying there. My two favourites were the Royal Palace and the Parque del Retiro.

When you take a little stroll outside of the big touristic streets, you can find little alleys crawling with local, cosy tapas bars. Visiting a few of these is definitely a must!

As you might have already seen on my Instagram, I also went to Sephora, because we don’t have one of these in Belgium.

The whole trip was really amazing! The weather was nice, everything was well planned out by the Surprise Me-crew and we stayed in a really nice hostel. Next time that I want to go on a little city trip, I will definitely consider booking via Surprise Me again!

If you have the same issues when choosing a holiday destination, I would really recommend that you take a look on the Surprise Me website!
